Dear Sir,
With the continual drug busts reported in the news, from cocaine imports intercepted, to the Cloak and Dagger production and trafficking of Meth made in "Clan-Labs" (clandestine means secretly inside in Latin), to the tragedies of youth lives cut far too short, it's important that we all help in some way to reduce abuse. June 26th is the UN International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking and this year their slogan is Think Health, Not Drugs.
I'm working with the Drug Free Ambassadors program in Australia to reduce abuse by education and prevention. This group was started by the Church of Scientology in 1993 and incorporated itself in 2005. We are promoting that youth learn the facts so they can make informed choices about their future. We are giving away this month to any concerned parent, educator, youth or community group the "Truth about Drugs - Real Lives Real Stories" Documentary who wants to help.
It has received rave reviews from young Australians, such as Nicholas who said, "It's down to earth and it's using real stories and certainly has a real impact on you. Its about saving people from drug abuse. When it becomes an abusing substance that's when it becomes very dangerous. People can slip into that very easily." And there is Kelsey, "This (new DVD) is more their level, what you can relate to as a teenager. It's something that you can relate to because it's a first hand experience of someone that's gone through it. It's not authority telling you. It's someone else who's lived it. 'This is what happened to me. And this is what shouldn't happen to you.'"
